I stand
With a lot of doubt in my mind
That the truth shall stand
And that the love shall bind
Where hate our fathers have plant
For our eyes to blind
I stand and watch
The rain almost more than I can bear
For her I have to be strong
As this she can’t hold for long.
This is not what we said I do for.
There is nothing for now I can do
The rain hits him hard
Only because of what he heard
Not the colour of his head.
But because there was no love in their head.
For this they hit his head hard,
Motionless, breathless, lifeless; he lies dead
We stand,
Confused and stranded
With nothing at hand
Not knowing where to go or stand
For our marriage to stand
When we are divided by politics and tribe
United by the ring of love
From the ground,
His tribe is not shown
Neither is his name known
But his life is blown
By those whose tribe is unknown
Is it my tribe or hers?
Shall we fight?
Coz’ one of us is dead,
Coz’ her view is not right
Coz’ my father says he has the might
Coz’ we are the ever right
Or coz’ he said we should fight?
The body has been here for long
Because no one wants to be wrong
By accepting we are not ever strong
And allowing love to make us one
And allowing the rain to cleanse us
Of our political and tribal wrongs.
