I sit to watch
The dark horizons
Wishing I knew the reasons.
For the doom in the room
That nobody cared to groom.
My head is in pain,
Intestines never stop to groan
Skeleton visible to the last bone
Withered, limbs can’t stop shiver.
Where are you?
Empty promises, empty plates
Empty stomach, empty hopes
Malnourished, dehydrated, dilapidated.
While you overfeed and diet,
Potbellied with pots of wellness.
My legs forever itch
Unstitched gullies in each
You destroy my call and urge
To drive myself to you,
Why roughen and strengthen the journey?
Do I deserve all these?
Our neighbours are here
Taking what we value most
Taking what is left of us
He works we eat and live
Buried alive and in the day
Covered by smoke and smog
You strive to solve
Our sweet neighbours
Issues you insist to assist
Harmony and love to harbour
While ours in vain we labour
Am I your son?
I need your care
Your contribution please dare
Show efforts even if rare
Let me be no orphan
While you lavish.
